Learning Lab Jr.
Privacy Policy

Learning Lab Jr. is a children's learning app provided by Vertex Web Studios LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). This policy explains how information is handled in the app, on its informational web pages, and when a parent or caregiver contacts us.

1. Information used by the app

We do not ask children to provide their name, email address, birth date, address, or other contact information to play. The app does not collect precise location, contacts, photos, camera recordings, or microphone recordings. It does not include public profiles, messaging between users, or an account registration system.

The app stores preferences such as sound, narration, music, and session-timer settings locally on the device. Some activities also save game-related information, such as previously shown letters, animals, sentences, or scenes, to remember progress and reduce repetition. This information is not sent to our servers. The app does not upload children's drawings, story choices, or gameplay responses to us.

Local app data may be included in device backups managed by Apple, depending on your device and backup settings. We do not operate a cloud account or cloud-sync service for this information.

2. Narration and offline play

Built-in activities and recorded narration work offline. Narration audio was prepared during app development and is included with the app; playing these recordings does not send your child's information to Amazon Polly. The app may also use the device's speech playback capabilities. It does not listen to or record your child.

Internet access is needed for app downloads, updates, purchases, and restoring subscriptions. These services can communicate with Apple even though built-in games work offline.

3. Purchases and subscriptions

Apple processes payments and subscriptions through the App Store. We do not receive your payment card details. The app uses Apple's StoreKit service to check purchase and subscription entitlements and unlock eligible activities. Apple handles information associated with your Apple Account under its own Privacy Policy.

You can manage or cancel a subscription through your Apple Account subscription settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

4. Advertising, tracking, and analytics

The app does not contain third-party advertising or third-party analytics SDKs. We do not use the app to track children across other companies' apps or websites, build advertising profiles, or sell or rent children's personal information.

Apple may process App Store, device, and diagnostic information under its own policies and your settings. Any reports Apple makes available to developers are separate from an in-app analytics service.

5. When you contact us

If a parent or caregiver emails us or uses a website contact form, we receive the name and email address they provide, their message, and any attachments they choose to send by email. Contact-form submissions are stored in an Amazon DynamoDB database, together with a server-generated submission date and time and the website page from which the form was submitted. We do not attach website query strings or browsing history to these records. We use that information to answer questions, troubleshoot problems, and handle privacy requests. Please do not send a child's personal information, photos, or recordings unless needed to explain a request.

Our email and hosting service providers may process information as needed to provide their services. We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect users, enforce our rights, or respond to a security incident.

6. Website visits and external links

The Learning Lab Jr. informational pages are hosted using Amazon Web Services. When you visit, the hosting infrastructure processes technical request information, such as your IP address and browser request details, to deliver the pages and maintain the service. These app informational pages do not set advertising cookies or include third-party analytics scripts.

The app and website may link to Apple or other external resources. Opening an external link takes you to a service governed by that provider's privacy practices. Parents and caregivers should supervise use of external links.

7. Children's privacy

Learning Lab Jr. is designed for young children to enjoy with a grown-up. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through gameplay. Support and privacy communications are intended for parents and caregivers.

If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us at the address below so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate. We will not ask you to send more information about a child than is needed to address your request.

8. Retention, deletion, and your choices

Local preferences and saved activity history remain in the app's data until removed. Deleting the app, rather than offloading it, removes its local data from that device; restoring a device backup may restore saved information. Manage backups through your Apple device settings.

We retain support correspondence only for as long as needed to address the request and related support, security, or legal obligations. You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information you have provided. We may need to verify that a request comes from the person concerned or an authorized parent or guardian. Rights and exceptions depend on applicable law.

9. Security

We use HTTPS for these web pages and rely on the device's app-storage protections for local app data. No system can guarantee absolute security. Please avoid including sensitive information in support messages.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app or our information practices change. The effective date above identifies the latest revision. We will provide additional notice or obtain consent when required by applicable law.
